ENGINE MANAGEMENT FAULTS INC MISFIRING AND POOR RUNNING
When the Engine Management light, or one of the dashboard warning lights comes on, our technicians translate the ‘fault codes’ and, using our specialist diagnostic equipment, we can trace the fault. This equipment allows us to identify the root cause of an electronic problem, but we also check faulty or worn mechanical components.

DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHTS – DON’T FAIL YOUR MOT!
There are now much tougher MOT rules which require your car dashboard’s warning lights to be working. The MOT test now includes a ‘Malfunction Indicator Lamp’ check, and the MOT examiner checks that warning lights for electronic stability control, safety restraint systems, anti-lock braking systems and tyre pressure monitoring systems are properly working. If not, this can lead to a failed MOT
AIR BAG LIGHT ON IS AN MOT FAIL
From March 20th 2013, all Airbag lights (SRS malfunction warning lights) on the dashboard MUST light up when the ignition is turned on and MUST go out once the car is started.
An airbag light should never come on unless there is a fault in your car's airbags system. You can drive the vehicle with the airbag light on but the car airbags will not deploy should you be involved in an accident. We will diagnose this an any other dash warning lights.
Our diagnostic equipment will find the root cause of the light activation. Common causes can be:
Your car's battery might have drained recently and the airbag battery backup depleted
Airbag Clock Spring Needs Replacing
Airbag Module is Wet or Corroded
We will order replacements parts as required and fit so the airbag light can then be reset
ABS LIGHT ON IS AN MOT FAIL
The car will fail the MOT if the ABS light is missing, does not illuminate, does not follow the correct sequence of operation, or indicates an ABS fault. Our diagnostic equipment will identify the cause of the ABS fault such as faulty sensors, faulty ABS pumps etc. We can carry out the repair using cost effective aftermarket parts or genuine parts as you wish.
